We welcome all sexual and gender identities where one member of a partnership identifies as a woman under the bisexual umbrella (see bottom of page) - bisexual, bicurious, pansexual/omnisexual, queer, fluid, and heteroflexible.

What is the Bisexual Umbrella?
San Diego Bi Wives use the term "bisexual umbrella" to describe a range of sexual preference identities that share the commonality of attraction to more than one gender. It's a way to be inclusive of the diverse experiences and labels people use to describe their non-monosexual attractions.
Here are some of the identities that commonly fall under the bisexual umbrella:
Bisexual: Attraction to more than one gender. This is the core identity of the umbrella and can encompass a wide range of experiences and preferences. Some bisexual people may be attracted to men and women, while others may include non-binary genders in their attraction. It's important to note that bisexuality doesn't necessarily mean equal attraction to all genders.
Pansexual: Attraction to all genders, or attraction regardless of gender. For pansexual individuals, gender is not a determining factor in their attraction.
Omnisexual: Attraction to all genders, with gender often playing a role in the attraction. Unlike pansexual individuals who may not notice or care about gender, omnisexual individuals may find themselves attracted to different genders in different ways.
Polysexual: Attraction to multiple genders, but not necessarily all genders. This identity acknowledges attraction to more than two genders but doesn't encompass the "all genders" aspect of pansexuality or omnisexuality.
Fluid: Describes individuals whose attraction to different genders may change over time. This fluidity can vary in frequency and intensity.
Queer: While "queer" can be an umbrella term for the entire LGBTQIA+ community, some individuals specifically identify as queer to describe their non-monosexual attraction without feeling the need to be more specific. It can also represent a rejection of traditional labels and a more fluid understanding of sexuality.
Multisexual: Similar to polysexual, indicating attraction to more than one gender.
Biromantic: Experiencing romantic attraction to more than one gender, but not necessarily sexual attraction.
Panromantic: Experiencing romantic attraction to all genders, regardless of gender.
Polyromantic: Experiencing romantic attraction to multiple genders, but not necessarily all genders.
It's important to remember that these are just some of the more common identities, and individuals may use other terms or no specific label at all. The language around sexual identity is constantly evolving, and the most important thing is to respect how individuals choose to identify themselves. The "bi+" term is also used as a shorthand to include bisexual and other multi-gender attracted identities.
